Presentation
Hello again everyone, time to get back to the kitchen. One of the questions I get asked a LOT is about how to make for better presentations. Food needs to look the part as well as taste it to get the full effect. One way to make your dishes look better is simply to use different dishes. Red sauces and other colorful creations tend to look best on light colored tablewear, whereas chicken, pork and other "light" colored fare look better on a darker background. I have plates that are white, blue and red and tailer which one's I use to the dish that I am serving. Another great way is to vary what you serve them in. In my most recent cooking class I made zucchini boats. The tomato sauce filling looks outstanding against the green background of the zucch's. Bread bowls are a great way to vary the looks of your soups. Small loaves of white bread show chili and other soups well, with rye loaves really touting your cream soups. Sprinkle cheese along the outsides to make the presentation jump out and people can add them to the soup in their own proportions. Keep up the cooking and remember Family, Friends and Food are what life is all about.
